Twitter rebrands and changes logo to ‘X’
Twitter is saying goodbye to its iconic blue bird logo. Twitter’s new logo will be an “X”. This would be the latest big change since Elon Musk bought the social media platform for $44bn last year.
Twitter’s billionaire owner said in a series of posts on his account that he’s looking to make the change worldwide immediately. He tweeted: “And soon we shall bid adieu to the Twitter brand and, gradually, all the birds”.
Musk posted an image of a flickering “X”, and later in a Twitter Spaces audio chat replied “Yes” when asked if the Twitter logo will change, adding that “it should have been done a long time ago”.
Twitter is thought to have around 200 million daily active users but it has suffered repeated technical failures since the tycoon bought the company.
Facebook recently came up with Threads, a Twitter look-alike. But it doesn’t seem to have sustained its initial enthusiasm.
Twitter will be mindful of the following aspects of the logo design:
- The shape and geometry of the letter X, and how it relates to Twitter’s brand name and message.
- The color scheme and contrast of the logo, and how it affects the visibility and readability of the logo.
- The style and mood of the logo, and how it conveys the personality and tone of Twitter’s platform and community.
- The simplicity and elegance of the logo, and how it fits with Twitter’s design philosophy and aesthetic.
- The impact and reception of the logo change among Twitter’s users and stakeholders
Let’s change the world
Elon Musk is a name that has become synonymous with innovation, entrepreneurship, and ambition. His companies, including Tesla, SpaceX, and Neuralink, have revolutionized industries ranging from transportation to aerospace to neuroscience. It’s no wonder that when he says he’s going to change the world, people believe him.
In a recent interview, Musk stated that he’s not in the business of making money. Rather, he’s driven by a desire to make a positive impact on the world.
He believes that his technological creations can help solve some of the biggest problems facing humanity, such as climate change, energy scarcity, and building sustainable colonies on other planets.
Whether or not Musk will ultimately succeed in changing the world remains to be seen. For a start, let’s see how far he goes in changing Twitter.
